Abstract

The study aims to highlight the role of solar energy in achieving sustainable development in Algeria, and to highlight the various efforts made by the Algerian state to develop the use of solar energy to support sustainable development plans in order to achieve the desired energy transition, given that the State of Algeria possesses great potential and huge capacities of solar energy, where it was found in this study that Algeria has made great strides by supporting and developing the solar energy sector, which contributes to achieving sustainable development. The study concluded with a general conclusion that Algeria has a huge potential of solar energy and has embodied many large and huge projects within the framework of the partnership for the development of solar energy, as Algeria strives to exploit solar energy in the future to play an important role in providing the Mediterranean region with electricity through solar energy, as the project is promising and the demand for energy is constantly increasing, in preparation for the post-oil phase and to achieve the goals of sustainable development.
